Located in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Asia Pacific Leather Fair, is one of the truly international leather exhibitions which platforms the latest materials, manufacturing and technology advances in the international leather industry. The APLF showcases a wide spectrum of leather products and technological innovations to the participants and to the world.
| Once again Nippon Meat Packers Australia was present at the fair promoting its tannery New Wave Leathers and the importance of Australia in the global hides and skins industry.
Participants noted that numbers were higher than previous years and distinguished that the fairs’ more open planned layout made the fair a true success.
The continual investment by New Wave Leathers in its tannery and the strong demand for its wet blue hides fueled consistent inquiry and interest at the fair. This led to new business opportunities being established and increased sales volumes achieved.

Within full view of the tallest building in the world we took part in this premier food exhibition in the Middle East. With two of our plants, Oakey Abattoir (Establishment 558) and Thomas Borthwick & Sons (Establishment 67) recently becoming Halal accredited it was a good opportunity to gain exposure to this large and diverse market.
Exhibitors noted that overall numbers were up significantly compared with previous years and we certainly experienced a steady flow of customers over the four days. We had on display some yearling grain fed Striploin, Cube Roll and Shortloin from our Thomas Borthwick & Sons plant. The fresh vacuum-packed cuts helped to attract interest in what is a new market for NMPA. Enquiry was fielded from a wide array of countries including Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and others. |
